This major update of the ShapeDiver platform is the final stage of a journey that started 3 years ago when ShapeDiver merged with the Swarm platform developed by CORE studio at Thornton Tomasetti. Our working title for the feature is #Stargate, because it is so fast and lightweight that it feels like we opened a portal between ShapeDiver and other software planets. Note that this does not involve any additional tools to install and learn about: everything is piloted directly by the ShapeDiver platform through a simple web browser! Just enable the connection with any compatible desktop software active on your local machine, and start exchanging data with a ShapeDiver model. No need to import and export CAD files anymore: send geometry directly from an active document and bake back the computed geometry outputs from the ShapeDiver model. At the moment, this already works with #Rhino3d, but Adobe Illustrator comes next, and then many more! In the next release of the platform, we introduce a brand new way to interact with ShapeDiver models directly from desktop software. This one is a long time in the making, and not quite ready yet, but I could not resist to share a first teaser about our progress.
